Former Qaddafi intelligence officer assassinated in Benghazi

Benghazi, 27 June:

A retired Qaddafi-era intelligence officer was assassinated in front of his house in Benghazi yesterday, less than one month after moving to the city.

Colonel Saleh Al-Warfali had previously been living in Ajdabiya, where he was in charge of an intelligence ministry department under the Qaddafi regime.

A source from the Supreme Security Committee (SSC) in Benghazi confirmed the name of the colonel and that the assassination took place but provided no further information.
