Zawia congresman’s son kidnapped: report

Tripoli, 6 February 2013:
The son of a Zawia congressman was kidnapped yesterday evening, Tuesday, along with two colleagues near Zawia, some 45 kilometres west of Tripoli.
According to Mustafa Attriki, himself a General National Congress member for the town, Abdulhamid Al-Kilani, the son of fellow Zawia representative Mohamed Al-Kilani, and the two others were seized between Zawia and the outlying village of Maiya. A fake checkpoint had been set up.
The kidnappers have reportedly phoned Congressman Kilani demanding the release of two prisoners who had earlier been transferred from Tripoli to Zawia prison, Attriki said.
Attriki added that an investigation is already underway and that the Kilani family is negotiating with the kidnappers.
