Anti-Security Threats Agency.

The Anti-Security Threats Agency reported yesterday that it was subjected to drone attacks last Monday (15 December) in the city of Sabrata by an unidentified party.

The attack targeted seized boat exhibits of the Illegal Migration Prosecution housed within its Sabratha Camp.

The Anti-Security Threats Agency explained that the targeted boats had been officially seized and deposited within the targeted camp following security raids it had conducted on illegal migration dens, pursuant to warrants issued by the competent prosecution. These operations resulted in the seizure of boats designated for illegal migration and the completion of all legally prescribed procedures.

Preliminary findings, it explained, indicate that the attack was carried out using a drone of unknown origin, causing material damage and injuries to four members of the guard force. In addition, two of its patrol vehicles sustained minor damage, along with damage to four civilian vehicles owned by its members.

Finally, the Anti-Security Threats Agency affirmed that such attacks will not deter it from fulfilling its national duty in combating illegal migration and organized crime. It said it remains committed to taking all necessary legal and security measures to pursue those involved and bring them to justice, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
