Tripoli, 5 October 2013:
The Minister of Transport, Abdel-Qader Mohamed Ahmed, has had talks with acting Qatari charge d’affaires Nayef Abdullah Al . . .[restrict]Emadi about the possibility of Qatar Airways resuming flights to Libya.
The talks focused on assuring security at Tripoli Airport International. They also touched on possible joint cooperation between Libya and Qatar in some investment projects.
Qatar Airways stopped flying to Tripoli at the beginning of August after a flight from Doha was prevented from landing when an armed group forced air traffic control staff at the airport to deny it permission to touch down. It went to Alexandria instead.
