An Imam, also a former senior military official from Benina Air Force base, was murdered today in Benghazi . . .[restrict]when an explosive device was detonated beneath his car.
Musta Faraj Al-Fitouri was killed instantly when the device exploded, spokesperson for Benghazi Joint Security Room (BJSR) Abdullah Zaidi told the Libya Herald. The incident happened in Benghazi’s Sal Mani district.
Fitouri, who retired in 1988, was an expert in arming military bases with appropriate weapons, Zaidi said. Since retiring, he had become an Imam at a mosque in the Fabri district of Benghazi. [/restrict]
