Libya purchased a portable theatre building from the Comédie Française in Paris. The wooden structure which . . .[restrict]can seat 700 people was erected in the gardens of the Palais Royal, by the Louvre, in December 2012 while work was being carried out of the Comédie Française’s historic theatre in the Palais Royal.
“It will be assembled, transported and installed by a French company based in Libya,” a diplomatic source told the Libya Herald.
Minister of Culture Habib Al-Amin met with French ambassador, Antoine Sivan, on 18 December when he signed the deal, but no exact date was given as to when the theatre will be delivered to Libya.
The theatre, which cost €4 million (LD 6.5 million), will be the highlight of the “Tripoli Arabic Cultural Capital 2014”, the diplomatic source added. [/restrict]
