Libya’s Tripoli based Ministry of Oil and Gas reported Wednesday (15 October) that as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance economic cooperation between Libya and the United States, the Acting Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, participated in the Libyan-US Cooperation Dialogue on Strategic Sectors held in Houston, Texas, organized by the US Bilateral Chamber of Commerce.

During the opening session, Minister delivered a keynote address that reviewed the strategic vision of the Libyan oil and gas sector, the recent developments in the ongoing public tender round, and investment opportunities in the energy sector in Libya.

In his speech, the Minister stressed that Libya is moving confidently towards strengthening international partnerships and creating an attractive investment environment in the fields of oil, gas and renewable energy, pointing out that cooperation with American companies can contribute to technology transfer and the development of national competencies to enhance the sector’s competitiveness at the international level.

The forum concluded with open dialogues and bilateral sessions between representatives of the public and private sectors from both sides, to discuss future partnership opportunities and mechanisms for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy.
