Sorman, 16 May:
At least two people have been killed and a third wounded in clashes in the northwestern town of Sorman.
The . . .[restrict]incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Electricity Institute in the resort area of the town, is believed to have erupted following a dispute between a man from Sorman and another from the Mutrud area.
The cause of the dispute is not currently known, nor the identities of those involved.
It is being reported, however, that following the shootings, a weapons store in Sorman was destroyed by Mutrud residents after they discovered the death of the Mutrud man.
It is believed that a delegation from Zawiya and Sabratha travelled to the scene in the wake of the incident to try and prevent further violence, and calm has been restored for the time being.
