Militiamen purporting to belong to the Kekla brigade from the Nafusa mountains attacked employees and a doctor at . . .[restrict]the emergency unit in Tripoli’s Al-Hadba Al-Khadra hospital on Sunday afternoon. They kidnapped two member of staff.
The armed militia arrived at the emergency unit in the late afternoon, parking their car carrying a sign “Kekla Revolutionaries”, at the entrance.
One of Tripoli brigade men protecting the hospital, Mohammed Ghamudi asked them to move their car in case an ambulance arrived. The armed militia then have attacked him too and put him in the car trunk.
According to hospital staff, the armed men were shooting guns in the air and threatened Dr Mohammed Al-Ajnaf, head of emergency unit, putting a gun on his head.
They also attacked an ambulance driver, named as Tawfiq, and put him in the car trunk as well. The vehicle then drove off with them to an unknown destination.
The emergency unit is now closed and hospital staff have refused to continue working until the armed militia return their kidnapped colleagues. [/restrict]
