Misrata, 14 May:

Misrata University’s College of Nursing has held its first graduation day since the revolution.

The University’s president Taher Habgi . . .[restrict]reminded the 18 graduates of the key role that medical students had played during in the fighting in the city, treating and evacuating the wounded. A documentary film covering the work undertaken by Misrata medical students was shown as part of the awards ceremony. The University itself still bears scars of the conflict.

Fighting raged on the campus

Dean of the Nursing College Abdullah Jwaid wished his students well and hoped that they would choose to work in Misrata hospitals and clinics. He added that he would like to think the graduates, eight of whom have specialised in general nursing and ten in intensive care, would make a point of encouraging high school pupils to give serious thought about a career in nursing.
