Oil company executive seized, later released without car and phone

Tripoli,  14 May:

One of the directors of Akakus Oil Operations, Abdul Majeed Shiha, was kidnapped in Tripoli yesterday as he returned . . .[restrict]from work to his home. He was held for several hours before being released at two o’clock this morning.

He was intercepted by two cars and an armed group, arrested and later held at an unknown location.

When he was released he was thrown out of a car, handcuffed and blindfolded in south Tripoli’s Injila area.

The thieves took his car and mobile phone.
