Law No 47/2012 on the sequestration and administration of assets and properties of certain individuals

Tripoli, 12 June 2012:

Libya Herald has translated Law No. 47/2012 which is an amended version of Law No. 36/2012 on the sequestration . . .[restrict]of assets of certain individuals and companies

Law No. 47/2012 Regarding the Administering of assets and properties of certain individuals.

–        And the law No.36, 2012 pertaining to the administering of the money and properties of some individuals.

–        And what was mentioned during NTC’ s meeting on Monday, 28 May, 2012

–        And for public interest considerations.

The law was issued:

Article 1

The first article of the law no.36/2012 is to be amended so as to be limited to the following:

The properties of the below mentioned individuals as well as the properties of the wives and children of their relatives are to be under the control of the public administrator.

 Article 2

The second article of law no.36/2012 is to be amended so as to be limited to the following as:

“Only the judicial administrator will have the authority to follow up with any judicial, civic and commercial cases that are related to the properties being under administration.”

Individuals who are concerned are entitled to appeal against having their properties under administration at the specified court in accordance with the legal regulations.

Article 3

The table attached to law no. 36/2012 pertaining to the administrating of some individuals’ properties is to be cancelled and the below table will be replace it.

Article 4

This law is effective once issued and any other law that does not correspond with what has been mentioned above is to be canceled.

On the original Arabic NTC list number 84 was omitted and therefore there are actually only 240 names on the list – 234 are individuals and 6 are companies [/restrict]
