Benghazi, 4 July:

Benghazi Local Council member, Abdullah Maghrebi, has confirmed that the head of the city’s public services company has been . . .[restrict]removed from his job on the recommendation of the Audit Bureau.

He stated that a steering committee had been commissioned to monitor the company. It consisted of five members, two from within the company and three from outside.

According to the council’s official spokesman, Khaled Al-Jazwee,  there has been many abuses within the public services company. This had led to the pilling-up of refuse throughout the city’s streets.

On a separate issue, Maghrebi pointed-out that a joint meeting was held on Monday between the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defence and the Supreme Security Committee to arrange the necessary security measures for the National Conference elections in Benghazi. [/restrict]
