Tripoli, 9 September:

A car blew up in Sebha early this morning outside the regional offices of the interior ministry. No one . . .[restrict]was injured although it is reported that there was damage to the building. It is not yet known whether the explosion, which occurred at around 3 a.m., was caused by a car bomb or if the vehicle, a Peugeot car, was itself attacked.

“It was probably just to scare people,” a local resident told the Libya Herald by phone.

Sebha has been relatively in recent months quiet although just over two weeks ago two Africans were killed when an unknown assailant threw an explosive device into the migrant workers’ house where they were staying.

In March, clashes in and around the town between Tebus and local Arab residents left 147 people dead and 395 injured. [/restrict]
