UN representative to Libya visits Misrata

Tripoli, 20 December:

The UN special representative for Libya, Tarek Mitri, visited Misrata on Thursday to meet members of the Local and . . .[restrict]Advisory Councils and civil society organisations.

During his visit, Mitri discussed the issue of decentralisation, national reconciliation, and the selection of the body to draft Libya’s constitution.

“The United Nations is committed to support Libya as per its request and its vision for the future in full accordance with the principles of national ownership,” Mitri said in a statement published on the UN Special Mission to Libya’s website today.
