Tripoli, 16 January 2103:

The Libyan Central Bank announced that it started yesterday, Tuesday, to pay LD 1,000 into Libyans’ bank accounts. . . .[restrict]The money is the grant approved by the General National Congress to every Libyan family to celebrate Eid Al-Adha last October and help buy a sheep to slaughter.

The bank said that all payments should be processed within two days.

The announcement of the grant was made on 10 October. At the time it was said that would not be ready for disbursement for at least two months. The bill to enact it was passed by Congress on 18 November. [/restrict]
