Minister of Social Affairs resigns at Benghazi protest

Benghazi, 29 July 2013:

In the wake of recent events in Benghazi, the Minister of Social Affairs, Kamila Khamis Al-Mazini, last night announced her resignation, at a protest in the city. Mazini resigned during a speech addressing hundreds of protesters outside the Tibesti Hotel. She condemned recent events in Benghazi, including the assassinations, the deteriorating security situation and what she termed the unacceptable silence of the government.
