Tripoli, 28 July 2013:

The deadline for handing in older issues of LD  5 and 10 banknotes which are being withdrawn from . . .[restrict]circulation has been extended.

The fourth and fifth series notes can now still be used until 1 September. There is then a two-month period for the old notes to be handed into state banks, according to the Central Bank of Libya (CBL). The last day that series four and five of the LD 5 and 10 notes will be accepted by banks is 31 October.

The series number is the first of the numbers on the front of the banknotes.

Last month, CBL also extended the withdrawal period of the first and second series of LD 20 notes until December this year. [/restrict]
