Tripoli, 4 September 2013:
Some international airlines operating out of Tripoli International were today reporting they had been warned that . . .[restrict]the planned closure of airport for urgent runway repairs, from midnight on Thursday until 6pm on Friday 6 September, would now run over into Saturday,
However the Director General of Libya’s Civil Aviation Authority (LYCAA), Captain Nasereddin Shaebelain this evening told this newspaper that the reports were wrong and that the work would go ahead within the scheduled period.
Several airlines, including Alitalia, will be redirecting Friday flights to Mitiga Airport. Others, including Air Malta, are postponing their Friday schedules. [/restrict]
