Tripoli, 3 November 2013:
The widespread assumption that tomorrow, Monday would mark the start of the new Islamic year . . .[restrict]was proved wrong this evening, when Dar Al-Ifta announced that the moon could not be detected, even by the meteorological office.
Thus tomorrow will be the last day of the 12th month of the Islamic year “Dhul-Hijja” and Tuesday, 5 November will be the first day of the new Islamic year 1435 and a public holiday. [/restrict]
