Military intelligence officer shot dead in Derna

Benghazi, 20 December 2013:

Benghazi’s new head of military intelligence was assassinated in Derna today when leaving a mosque.

Colonel Fathallah . . .[restrict]Abdel Raheem Al-Gazeeri was killed when he left a formal ceremony for the drawing up of his niece’s marriage contract, an official in Derna – speaking on condition of anonymity – told the Libya Herald. His body was taken to Derna Hospital.

Gazeeri had taken up his role with military intelligence just a few days ago. [/restrict]
