Benghazi, 14 February 2014:
A police officer today survived an assassination attempt in Benghazi after being shot in the chest . . .[restrict]and leg.
The officer, a colonel, was shot in the Salem district by gunmen driving a Hyundai pick-up truck, spokesman for Benghazi Joint Security Room, Ibrahim Al-Sharaa, told the Libya Herald.
The injured officer was taken to a Benghazi hospital and his condition has been described as stable. [/restrict]
