Child found safe after early-morning kidnapping in Sirte

Benghazi, 24 March 2014:

Mystery still surrounds the kidnapping of a child in Sirte this morning, who was found safe . . .[restrict]at lunchtime today.

The boy, who has not been named for security reasons, was abducted this morning at 7am on his way to school by masked men, a local resident told the Libya Herald. He was taken away in a car with tinted windows and no number plates.

He was reportedly found in the town at around 1pm, inside a sack. He was alive and there have been no reports suggesting he had been harmed in any way. The reasons for the kidnapping remain a mystery.
