Tripoli, 1 March 2014.

Sebha’s Al-Mahdiya football club yesterday celebrated its 30th anniversary, honouring a number of players and supporters . . .[restrict]of the club.

“The celebrations took place yesterday morning and a significant number of old players and supporters attended the event,” head of the Al-Mahdiya district local council, Sami Abdilnabi, told the Libya Herald. “We honoured, in particular, the former player and coach Mohammed Al-Busaify, who now coaches the goalkeepers in the national Libyan team.”

Abdilnabi said that the celebrations also honoured a number of local people with special needs who had loyally supported the club for many years. Other contributors and supporters, whose efforts kept up and raised the profile of the club, especially local residents from Al-Mahdiya, were also praised.
