Security in the capital has meant classes will not resume at Tripoli University . . .[restrict]in the new academic year.
The head of Tripoli University’s Students’ Union, Mohammed Derah, told the Libya Herald it was “impossible to study in these conditions” and that the university was doing its best to keep its administrative services running. He explained that students lodging appeals and applying to study abroad still needed to have access to the university. “They need to finish their paperwork,” he said.
Tripoli University released a statement a week ago saying it had suspended classes. Derah explained that all exams and tests scheduled in the short term had also been postponed.
“Student accommodation is almost completely empty” he said, adding that most students studying at the university but with families outside Tripoli had opted not to return.
