Tripoli, 7 December 2014:
In the course of today in the capital, a policeman was gunned down in his home, . . .[restrict]allegedly by members of the Nawasi Brigade, one student stabbed another to death at the university law school but an engineering lecturer spotted a bomb beneath his car and avoided detonating it by driving off.
Dr Najmadeen Al-Rhais had been returning to his vehicle parked behind the Al-Amgoudi mosque in Shara Abdul. He discovered the device containing some 800 grammes of TNT.
The identity of the two students in the deadly fight at the law school has not been revealed.
The slain policeman however has been named as Adel Salem Al-Gheriyani from the Al Hani area. Neighbours said that the policeman had been attacked in his home by men from the Nawasi Brigade because he was thought to favour the Libyan National Army. He was reportedly shot more than once . However, his attackers stopped anyone from taking him to hospital, until it seemed they were sure that he was dead.
