Tripoli, 8 March 2015:

Afriqiyah Airlines has announced an immediate . . .[restrict]suspension of  flights from Tripoli’s Mitiga airport to Amman and Alexandria.

According to Afriqiyah, aviation authorities at Labraq airport will not allow flights from Mitiga bound for international destinations to land there. The company said that they have not been given a reason for this.

Flights from Mitiga had been required to land at either Labraq or Tobruk airports for security inspection by government officials before carrying on to Amman or Alexandria. This condition was imposed by the Jordanian and Egyptian authorities.

Afriqiyah Airlines said on its social networking page that it hopes the suspension will be temporary. [/restrict]
