Ghat/Tunis, 29 November 2015:

A young Libyan, Abdulsalam Al-Busayri, from Ghurayfa, 25 kilometres east of Obari, has started his . . .[restrict]own bid to promote peace in the south and in Libya as a whole. He started a 150-kilometre run from Ghurayfa, his home town, to the regional capital Sebha in a bid to focus attention on the lack of security in the area and the country. His slogan for the run is “peace for the South is peace for Libya”.

His initiative came as fresh clashes broke out in conflict-torn Obari between Tuaregs and Tebus, in breach of the peace deal signed by both in Qatar last week.

A spokesman for the local operations room, Majdi Buhna, said that the clashes occurred when ten Tebu fighters tried to enter the town this morning. He claimed that they were forced to retreat by operation room troops but that there had been casualties on both sides.

Obari is now reported quiet.
