London, 23 February 2016:
The corpses of the two Serbians, diplomat Sladjana Stankovic and colleague Jovica Stepic, killed in the US bombing of the Sabratha IS/DAESH hideout last Friday, have been returned home, it was revealed today.
The Rada (Special Deterrence Force – SDF), the Tripoli-based security entity which is part of the Ministry of Interior said that it had, upon instructions from the Attorney General/Public Prosecutors Office and in cooperation with the Libya Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Protocol Department, handed the two corpses to the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
Rada added that the corpses were examined by an official forensic doctor prior to being handed over.
The statement also revealed that none of the other corpses thought to be of Tunisian nationality have been released, refuting reports that some corpses had been handedover to Tunisian authorities through the shared Ras Ejder land border. [/restrict]
