Tripoli, 15 May 2016:

A university lecturer and a policeman have been murdered in two separate attacks . . .[restrict]in Tripoli.

Dr. Omar Al-Rabthi, who taught at Tripoli University’s media and arts faculty, was found dead this evening at his home near the Airport Road. Police have given no details of the killing though sources at the university claimed that he had been tortured.

The dean of the faculty, Abdulhakim Madi announced tonight that all Monday’s studies would be suspended for the day as a mark of respect for Rabthi, who was a popular and respected member of staff.
