Tunis, 28 December 2016:

The Chief of Defence Staff of the Italian Armed Forces, General Claudio Graziano, visited the Italian field hospital at Misrata, set up to treat fighters who are part of the Bunyan Marsous Operation against the so-called Islamic State (IS) and who were wounded in the battle against it.

The field hospital was offered by current Italian prime minister Paolo Gentiloni when he was foreign minister in September as a gesture of support to the Presidency Council in the fight against IS.

Graziano’s visit included talks with commanders from the BM operation.
