Kufra leading political figure kidnapped in Tobruk

One of the three House of Representatives (HoR) members for Kufra, Jibril Awhaidah, was kidnapped from his house in Tobruk this evening.
The reasons for the abduction are unknown and local police say they have no leads.
Formerly a member of the justice department in Kufra during Qaddafi’s time, Awhaidah comes from Kufra’s majority Zwai community. He was selected, rather than elected, to represent the community which did not votes in the 2014 elections which were delayed in Kufra because protests by the town’s majority Zwai tribe.
