The local branch in Gharyan of the General Authority for Film, Theatre and the Arts organised a creative arts gathering yesterday to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the Libyan revolution and commemorate those who died in it.
The event brought together a number of poets, writers, members of civil society organisations and those interested in cultural affairs. The aim was encourage creativity through arts. A number of poems were recited during the evening, many dedicated to patriotism and Libya’s cohesion and unity. There were also recitals of older folk poetry.
The general authority, based in Tripoli, is part of the Presidency Council’s Government of National Accord.
