Benghazi, 30 April 2017:

In a fresh shake-up of the Beida government’s foreign media authority Atef Miloud Al-Hasiya has been appointed head of the organisation, according to the Libyan news agency LANA in Benghazi. Assisting him will be journalists Malik Sherif and Nasser Mohammed Al-Daisy.

Three months ago, Abdullah Al-Thinni sacked the then head of the authority, Arish Saeed, following allegations that money had disappeared. As part of a wider reorganisation, it also incorporated the body into the Information and Culture Authority. Ateesh, however, was able to clear his name and return to his post, although he was reportedly unpopular with both the military establishment around Field Marshal Khalifa Hafter and the political one around Thinni.   It now appears that he has been removed once again.

The foreign media authority remains part of the Information and Culture body.
