London, 25 February 2020:

Libya’s eastern-based Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) met with representatives of Schlumberger oil services company at its Benghazi headquarters on Sunday.

AGOCO reported that the meeting reviewed the services of the latest oil technologies used in the field of reservoir management and production and drilling engineering, which contribute to maintaining and increasing production. These, AGOCO added, enabled Schlumberger and AGOCO to receive the Schlumberger Silver Award.

AGOCO reminded that Schlumberger was one of the first foreign oil companies to resume their activities with AGOCO in moving Schlumberger’s pump maintenance workshop to field 103 in the Wahat area.

Schlumberger’s participation in the development of undeveloped fields, especially in early production equipment, as well as the coverage of drilling and well maintenance requirements, was also discussed in accordance with AGOCO’s plan.

The strengthening of future cooperation between the two companies, the resumption of academic support of the University of Benghazi, which has been suspended since 2014, and the establishment of a specialized oil training and development centre by Schlumberger in Benghazi, which will be the only centre in North Africa – were also discussed.
