London, 16 December 2020:
Six entrepreneurs and small business owners in Sebha will receive financial grants of $ 40,000 to develop their businesses from the European Union.
The EU said yesterday that this step comes within the initiative aimed at reviving and supporting projects affected by the conflict or the economic consequences of the Corona epidemic. It explained that these grants are part of the “Marathon Recovery Support” initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program in several cities throughout Libya “in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government in Tripoli, and the municipalities of Sabratha, Sabha, Murzuq, Benghazi, Ajdabiya and Kufra.”
The six entrepreneurs, severely affected throughout the years of the Libyan conflict and the Coronavirus pandemic, are working on projects in the sectors of agriculture, clothes manufacturing, auto repair and food and cosmetics.
