(PC/GNA).

London, 17 February 2021:

Libya’s Tripoli Foreign Ministry reported yesterday that the Venice Court of Appeal in Italy, ruled in favour of the Libyan Consulate General in Milan in the case brought against it by SCT Contracting.

The company was seeking compensation of US$ 7 million from Libya for losses that the company claimed it had suffered.

The Ministry quoted its Milan Consul, Salem Jamoum, saying that SCT’s case against Libya aimed to seize possession of Libyan state’s property, the accounts of the General Consulate in Milan, and bank deposits in the name of the Libyan state or at its disposal with a banking institution in Italy.

Jamoum said that there is a suspicion of falsifying a court ruling in Tripoli in favour of SCT, which was repealed by the Italian judiciary after all the evidence was presented by the Libyan Consulate in Milan.
