GNU freezes spending of state investment funds and companies

London, 13 March 2021:

In its first decree (1/2021) since physically moving into the Tripoli Prime Minister’s Office, the incoming Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU) of Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba today froze all financial activities of all state investment funds and companies.

The temporary freeze excludes the payment of salaries.

The GNU said this is to avoid any suspicion of corruption.
