The Attorney General / Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the delayed arrival of the anti-Coronavirus vaccines to Libya (Logo: AG/PPO).

London, 9 March 2021:

The Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation into the reported delayed arrival of the anti-Coronavirus vaccines to Libya.

Libyan media reports say it has summoned the Minister of Health and members of the Scientific Advisory Committee to Combat the Corona Pandemic and the Director General of the National Centre for Disease Control to hear their statements.

This follows the current Faiez Serraj-led Presidential Council decision No. 94 of 2021, issued on 4/2/2021, to form a multi-sector committee to take over the vaccination execution plan for vaccines contracted with the WHO/Covax alliance, which are supposed to arrive at the end of this week.

A Procurement Committee for the purchase and supply of the remaining quantities of the vaccine was supposed to study the existing offers for vaccines within 48 hours and refer them to the competent authorities to complete the procurement procedures.
