London, 19 March 2021:

Russia is considering reopening its embassy in Tripoli. The news was revealed by its Foreign Ministry.

It revealed yesterday that its Charges d’Affaires in Libya, Dzhamshed Boltaev, spoke on 15 March with the newly sworn-in Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba and several of his ministers.

These discussions included the possible reopening of the Russian embassy in Tripoli – closed since Tripoli’s 2014 ‘‘Libya Dawn’’ militia coup that led to the country’s political and military split.
