London, 21 June 2021:

Italian energy giant ENI is studying the construction of a solar power project in the Rebiana region of south-east Libya. Rebiana is near Kufra on the Libyan-Sudanese border – about 1,000 km from coastal Benghazi.

The news was revealed by the National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) Director of the Sustainable Development Department during a meeting at the NOC’s Tripoli headquarters headed by NOC head Mustafa Sanalla with the member of parliament and activists from the Rebiana area.

The project would be part of the sustainable development programmes implemented by the ENI in cooperation with the NOC, the report explained.
