London, 6 July 2021:

During a meeting yesterday in a Tripoli hotel, the head of the Libyan Business Council (LBC) Abdalla Fellah met with Algerian Ambassador Kamal Hejazi.

The LBC reported that the meeting discussed organizing a delegation of Algerian business leaders’ visit to Libya in the middle of this month. It also discussed the economic programme aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries and seeking to open a direct maritime trade line between Libya and Algeria.

The Algerian Ambassador confirmed the readiness of Algeria to open the land border in the Ghadames region clarifying that it is up to the discretion of the Libyan authorities in determining the opening date.
