Libya discusses with Egypt hospital management, import of health personnel, patient visas and training

Libya’s Ministry of Health

London, 13 July 2021:

Libya’s Health Minister Ali Al-Zanati discussed during a meeting in Tripoli yesterday increased cooperation in health with Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Tharwat Selim.

The Ministry reported that several files were discussed, the most important of which were activating health memoranda and agreements of understanding between the two sides, importing medical and auxiliary medical personnel, cooperation in the field of primary health care, training national personnel, especially in the field of drug inspection, drug vigilance, drug manufacturing, economic pharmacist, and clinical pharmacy.

The meeting also touched upon the handover of management of some hospitals to Egyptian companies specialized in managing and operating hospitals, and to set up a mechanism to facilitate patient entry visa procedures into Egyptian territory for the purpose of treatment.

For his part, the Egyptian ambassador welcomed the Minister’s visit to Egypt. He also welcomed the activation of agreements between the two countries and affirmed their full readiness to cooperate in all fields.
