London, 31 August 2021:

The Libyan-Turkish Forum for Enterprise Development will be held from 16 to 18 November in Istanbul, according to the one of its sponsors, the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will be concerned with industrial affairs in Libya in terms of structuring, infrastructure, and qualification of human cadres, especially in the field of small and medium industries.

The Tripoli Chamber reported that the forum aims primarily to raise awareness of the importance of small and medium enterprises as an essential source of diversification of the economy, and to provide the appropriate ground for creating a diversified industry that will contribute effectively to diversifying the sources of national income currently dependent on oil exports.

Its activities will be accompanied by an exhibition of commercial companies and institutions supporting small and medium enterprises, and field visits to free zones, incubators and technology parks.

The forum aims to secure a place for the emerging Libyan small and medium enterprise sector in global trade, and to prepare the appropriate ground for the emergence of Libyan-Turkish partnerships to build, support and finance the small and medium enterprise sector in Libya through the establishment of joint financing funds dealing with incubators and business centres, pilot projects, banking finance, and the role of municipalities in the implementation mechanism, and the necessary legislation and laws.

The axes and activities of the event focus on the government’s role and policies in supporting small and medium enterprises, the work environment necessary to revive this trend, and the development of scientific research and individuals’ creative capabilities.

The forum, whose activities will crystallize in workshops, training courses, lectures, and success workshops for business incubators and their role in developing small and medium enterprises, and the general policies needed to support these projects, targets many sectors concerned with economy, trade, industry and finance, including ministries, institutions, bodies, and chambers of commerce and industry in both Libya and Turkey.

Parties concerned with this forum, including institutions, bodies, companies and individuals who wish to participate or obtain more details, should contact the Preparatory Committee for the Libyan-Turkish Forum for Projects Development at the Libyan Ministry of Economy and Trade via phone number 00 218 915903606.
