London, 1 September 2021:

The first major in-person energy conference to be held in Libya for a decade will take place in Tripoli on 22-23 November this year, organizers Energy Capital and Power (ECP) announced.

The announcement followed on from ECP’s Tripoli meeting yesterday Zuhir A. Mahmud, Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabieba to discuss the programme for the upcoming ‘‘Libya Energy & Economic Summit’’.

James Chester, Senior Director of ECP, and local partner Ahmed Al-Ghazali agreed with Mahmud on the importance of including technical meetings for the Libyan local oil and gas sector as an integral part of the programme, and on the need for discussions to cover a wide range of topics including renewable energy, the energy transition, sustainability, job creation, infrastructure and diversification.
