Libyan and Tunisian Central Banks sign MoU to enhance cooperation including in FINTECH

Tripoli, 13 November 2021:

The Governors of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) (Saddek El-Kaber) and Tunisia (Marouane El Abassi) signed an MoU Friday at the Tunisian Central Bank in Tunis to enhance cooperation in the areas of joint work.

The CBL reported that this included the transfer of experience of the Central Bank of Tunisia in the field of developing financial transactions (Fintech), and to launch initiatives to develop and refine the skills of Libyan youth to keep pace with development in this field and encourage them to innovate by launching Fintech Labs.

The MoU also covered cooperation in exchanging information, developing effective banking supervision, monetary policy, and developing payment systems.
