The possibilities of developing tourism in general and health tourism in particular between Bulgaria and Libya were discussed in the Bulgarian capital Sofia on Thursday.

The discussions came at the invitation of the Libyan diplomatic mission in Sofia with Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism, Hristo Prodanov, and in the presence of the Adviser for Bulgarian-Arab Relations, Anastas Tarzubalyav.

Easing visas
At the meeting, Minister Prodanov indicated that one of the ministry’s priorities is to facilitate the process of issuing visas to citizens of the so-called “third” countries, and it is actively working on this issue.

Deputy Minister Mariela Modeva, meanwhile, added that business meetings are already underway and an interdepartmental working group has been formed with the main objectives of finding appropriate solutions to the same issue, ensuring an increase in the flow of tourists to Bulgaria.

During the talks, the two sides discussed specific steps and procedures for preparing an agreement to develop health tourism between Bulgaria and Libya.
