The International Forum & Exhibition for Free Zones – Misrata: 28 to 29 June at Misrata Free Zone

At a ceremony held at the Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) last Wednesday, a contract was signed between the MFZ and Turkish company Med Marine to supply two pilot boats (to be named Al-Amer and Al-Aqla) and a marine tugboat (to be named Misrata).

The MFZ said the vessels will be the most powerful and latest of their kind in Libyan ports and the first marine pieces to be added to the port since 2007.

The two pilot boats will be received in October and November, while the tugboat will be delivered in May next year.

The MFZ pointed that it has concluded a series of contracts with specialized international companies to replace older mechanisms with modern ones that conform to international standards in order for services at the port to always be at high international standards, and for the port to remain the first choice for investors.

These contracts include seventy land vehicles that will enter service successively, to contribute to increasing the speed of handling and storage at the port, as part of its continuous endeavour to develop and raise the efficiency of services at the port.
