Whiba Holding’s Al-Safwa brand pasta, couscous and semolina factory has started operation. The factory aims to meet the demand for the Libyan market and in the longer term aims to supply the regional and Sub-Saharan African market.
The factory is based in the holding company’s 60-hectare Dafniya complex in Zliten and is one of the biggest in Africa with a 600 MT daily production capacity and a 200,000 MT storage capacity. The huge industrial complex is also the site for cooking oil, flour, tomato paste and fruit juices.
Whiba Holding is a family-owned company established by Musbah Whiba in the 1980’s and is now owned by his family.
The company has sites across Libya, from Tripoli to Misrata, Zliten, Benghazi and Sebha, and is active in a wide range of sectors, including animal feed, agriculture, oil, construction, renewables, shipping, tourism, pharma, and transport.
