Tripoli Chamber of Commerce revealed yesterday that it will be co-organising the Libyan-Cypriot Economic Forum to be held in Cyprus in November 2022.
The news came as the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce participated virtually in the preparatory meeting for the Libyan-Cypriot Economic Forum.
The meeting included Libya’s Ambassador to Cyprus, the heads of the Chambers of Commerce, of Misrata and Tobruk, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of Benghazi, the Director General of the Privatization and Investment Board (PIB), Eastern Region Branch, and Director General of Benghazi’s Elmreisa Free Zone (EFZ).
Tripoli Chamber reported that the attendees discussed the arrangements implemented in the forum’s organizing plan and the ongoing preparations in coordination with the relevant authorities, working to achieve the aspirations and objectives of the forum in:
- Enhancing communication between economic and commercial activities
- Creating a partnership that contributes to supporting and developing the performance of the private sector
- Offering promising investment opportunities in both countries
- Setting a joint work programme with the aim of facilitating the movement of business owners.
The next session to be held in Libya?
Tripoli Chamber also reported that a call was made at the meeting for the next session of the forum to be held in Libya with the aim of encouraging foreign investors to enter the local market and participation in the implementation of infrastructure and investment projects in all regions.
